Andrew Cuomo's Transition Team, And Plenty Of It »
By Celeste Katz
If Governor-Elect Andrew Cuomo piles any more people onto his transition teams, who will be left to be governed?
The full release with all the names is below, but a few jumped out at me:
- Ken Raske, President, Greater New York Hospital Association (A pretty serious indication Cuomo's going to make good on his promises to take on the unions.)
- Abby S. Milstein, Partner, Constantine Cannon (Perhaps another little poke at Eliot Spitzer? This is the firm of Eliot's one-time-confidant-turned-tell-all-book-writer Lloyd Constantine.)
- Geoffrey Canada, founder, Harlem Children’s Zone (Making the point that this will be a diverse administration, plus HCZ is well-liked by former President and former Cuomo boss Bill Clinton.)
- Stan Lundine, Chair of the NYS Commission on Local Government Efficiency and Competitiveness and former LG to Cuomo's father, Mario, with whom he didn't always have a perfect relationship.
- Tom Suozzi, former Nassau County Executive and Chair of the NYS Commission on Property Tax Relief (Suozzi ran a "Fix Albany" campaign that targeted balky members of the state Legislature and encouraged Spitzer to give him a role in government, so perhaps Cuomo's trying to bring a potential critic into the fold?)
Here's the latest truckload of those who will be helping the incoming Democrat set up his administration in the areas of health and education; transportation and infrastructure; and government reform.
